Traction Driving - It’s Definition and Why it’s so important

The literal definition of traction is
“… the friction between a drive member and the surface it moves upon, where the friction is used to provide motion.”

Better put, traction is what helps you stick to the ground.
With cars, SUVs, CUVs, subcompacts and other vehicles in motion, the higher the friction the better and safer the drive. Traction helps a driver stick to the road, allowing for better manoeuvrability and control. What else makes traction and driving so imprtant:
- traction allows for better control over your vehicle
- traction helps you “stick” to the ground
- traction allows you to move at higher speeds without spinning out or losing control
